Who we are

RantDrop is developed and operated by Rory Avant (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and shared when you use the RantDrop mobile application (the “App”).

Information we collect

1) Account information

RantDrop supports Sign in with Apple for authentication. When you sign in, we may receive a unique identifier associated with your Apple account. If you choose Apple’s “Hide My Email” option, we may also receive a private relay email address.

2) User content you create

To provide the core features of the App, you may create or store content including:

• Rant videos
• Reaction videos
• Recorded audio
• AI-generated songs
• Transcripts and captions generated from audio
• Prompt content or text derived from your rant for song generation or captioning
• Song metadata generated from your content, such as title, genre, mood, tags, and hook text

This content is primarily stored locally on your device unless it is sent to a third-party service to perform a feature you request.

3) Purchases and token usage

If you purchase tokens or other in-app purchases, Apple processes your payment information. We may receive limited purchase-related information such as product identifiers, transaction status, and receipt-related information needed to confirm and deliver your purchase.

4) Device and app information

We may collect limited technical information necessary to operate the App, such as:

• App version
• Device type
• Basic diagnostic or crash information
• Technical logs used to improve reliability, performance, and security

Permissions

Camera and Microphone

RantDrop requires access to your device’s camera and microphone so you can record rant and reaction videos and create audio-based content.

You can manage these permissions in your device settings at any time. If permissions are denied, some features of the App may not function.

How we use information

We use information only to operate the App and provide requested features, including to:

• Record, save, and play back videos and audio you create
• Generate AI-assisted songs, transcripts, captions, and song metadata when requested by you
• Process token usage and deliver in-app purchases
• Maintain security and prevent abuse
• Debug issues and improve reliability and performance

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only when necessary to provide features you request, operate the App, comply with law, or protect users and the App.

1) AI processing providers

When you choose to use AI-powered features, RantDrop may send certain content to third-party AI providers to perform the feature you requested. This may include:

• Recorded audio or rant content
• Transcript text and captions
• Prompt content derived from your rant
• Lyrics or text used for music/song generation
• Text used to generate song metadata, such as titles, moods, genres, tags, or hooks

Current AI providers may include:

• OpenAI — for audio transcription, captions, and related AI text/audio processing
• ElevenLabs — for music and song generation based on lyrics or related user-provided content
• DeepSeek AI — for song metadata generation, such as title, genre, mood, tags, and hook text

We ask for your permission before sending this content to third-party AI providers, including OpenAI, ElevenLabs, and DeepSeek AI. If you do not grant permission, the related AI feature will not run.

2) Platform and payment providers

• Apple — for Sign in with Apple, App Store distribution, and in-app purchases

3) Service and infrastructure providers

We may use service providers or infrastructure tools necessary to operate app functionality, storage, networking, debugging, and delivery of the services you request.

4) Legal requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or governmental request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety, rights, or security of users, the App, or others.

AI feature disclosures

RantDrop includes AI-powered features such as song generation, transcription, caption creation, and song metadata generation. These features may require sending your content to third-party AI providers.

Before your content is sent for AI processing, the App presents an in-app disclosure explaining:

• what data may be sent,
• which third-party provider may receive it, and
• that the data is being sent to provide the feature you requested.

You may decline this permission. If you do, the related AI feature will not be available unless you later choose to consent.

Data retention

Content created within RantDrop is primarily stored locally on your device and remains there until you delete it or remove the App.

If content is sent to third-party providers to perform AI features you request, those providers may process and retain data according to their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control the independent data-handling practices of third-party providers.

Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s privacy

RantDrop is not intended for children under 13, or under the age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us.

Your choices

• Permissions: Camera and microphone access can be controlled in device settings.
• Local content: You can delete content directly from your device or by removing the App.
• AI consent: You can decline or later revoke consent for AI processing in the App’s settings, which may disable certain AI-powered features.

International users

If you use the App outside the United States, your information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above. Your continued use of the App after an update means the revised Privacy Policy will apply going forward.
